John is an experienced Art Director with a demonstrated history in publishing and marketing, skilled in content generation, delivery, and promotion. He is a strong communication and design professional with an adaptable attitude, he can effectively design, direct, and manage a variety of content, from print to web.

As an infant, John was rocketed to earth from a doomed planet. Landing in Queens, NY, he was raised by a lovely Irish couple in a stately mansion on the beach that had two poles that went to the basement. His parents tried to raise him as a normal boy, but his geek DNA won out. He thrived on a steady diet of Saturday morning cartoons, Sunday Funnies, comic books, TV, movies, books and drawing. Today, John is an art director, a designer, a cartoonist, a teller of tales, and a Sci-Fi & Comic Geek. He rides the Interwebs as Surfside Jack, lover of genre fiction, movies, books, music and art. Oh, and beer. Good beer.

John’s geekery runs wide and deep. He likes his fiction flavored and appreciates both digital and analog delivery systems. He likes classic movies and black and white TV shows and will watch them on his new iPhone in a pinch. He loves the quality of modern home audio and video but believes nothing beats seeing a movie in the theater or seeing a Jazz band in person. He also is getting quite used to speaking of himself in the third person and wonders if it’s okay to start using the “royal we.”
